{"id":136,"date":"2007-04-16T10:30:21","date_gmt":"2007-04-16T16:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelsiegel.net\/?p=136"},"modified":"2007-04-16T10:30:21","modified_gmt":"2007-04-16T16:30:21","slug":"poll-smoking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelsiegel.net\/?p=136","title":{"rendered":"Poll Smoking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s IMDB poll asks <a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/poll\/results\">which<\/a> of these animated movies in the IMDb Top 250 is your favorite?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m guessing whoever wrote this poll gets confused by foreign languages because the #1 rated animated movie (Miyazaki&#8217;s delightful <em>Spirited Away<\/em>) and #7 (Takahata&#8217;s beautiful and heart-rending <em>Grave of the Fireflies<\/em>) are not on it.  I suspect someone saw the Disney titles and recognized Mononoke out of the corner of their eye.<\/p>\n<p>And frankly, I disagree with the IMDB rankings anyway.  Any top ten than includes both <em>Toy Story<\/em> movies and <em>Shrek<\/em> but not <em>Snow White<\/em> or <em>My Neighbor Totoro<\/em> has been compiled by twerps.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s IMDB poll asks which of these animated movies in the IMDb Top 250 is your favorite?
