Anyone who takes the Social Security issue seriously has a good mark in my book.  And Crist is <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.tbo.com\/content\/2010\/apr\/15\/crist-vetoes-teacher-tenure-bill\/news-politics\/#poll_935\">worthless<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ta-Nehisi Coates <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/national\/archive\/2010\/04\/the-ghost-of-bobby-lee\/38813\/\">destroys<\/a> the idea that the Civil War wasn&#8217;t about slavery while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/national\/archive\/2010\/04\/heroic-memory\/38915\/\">commenting<\/a> on the worship of Robert E. Lee.  In response to his question of whether you can admire someone who fought for a bad cause, I&#8217;d say yes.  Many of our WW 2 veterans had great admiration for the German and Japanese soldiers.<\/li>\n<li>How on Earth is Marc Thiessen taken <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cato-at-liberty.org\/2010\/04\/12\/bush-was-a-statist-not-a-conservative\/\">seriously<\/a>?  His entire existence is based around dishonestly vindicating the shitty record of the Bush Administration.<\/li>\n<li>Reason <a href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/12\/did-emperor-agustin-i-prevent\">dig in<\/a> to figure out why Texas was immune from the worst of the housing bubble.  My theory?  In Texas, houses are for livin&#8217;, not money makin&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Is another McMartin case going on in <a href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/14\/kindergarten-teachers-accuser\">Georgia<\/a>?  As a parent, I want children protected. Meanwhile, the Pope is vigorously defended by religion conservatives despite his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/03\/25\/world\/europe\/25vatican.html\">complicity<\/a> in serious repeated abuse.<\/li>\n<li>Conservatives, once defenders of liberty, are apparently thrilled that Arizona cops can now approach anyone and <a href=\"http:\/\/gawker.com\/5517220\/arizonas-new-immigration-policy-ask-every-brown-person-for-papers\">demand their papers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m just so happy that <a href=\"http:\/\/oakland.athletics.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20100414&#038;content_id=9288024&#038;vkey=news_oak&#038;fext=.jsp&#038;c_id=oak\">baseball is back<\/a>.<\/li>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All politics this week I&#8217;m afraid.
