{"id":307,"date":"2007-06-25T11:20:05","date_gmt":"2007-06-25T17:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelsiegel.net\/?p=307"},"modified":"2007-06-25T16:21:10","modified_gmt":"2007-06-25T22:21:10","slug":"more-lies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelsiegel.net\/?p=307","title":{"rendered":"More Lies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Why is it no one points the obvious with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/HEALTH\/06\/22\/sex.drug.report.ap\/index.html\">sex surveys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The median number of lifetime female sexual partners for men was seven; the median number of male partners for women was four.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;m reminded of <em>Sex in America<\/em> which claimed that men had, on average, sex with three times as many women as women did with men (the numbers were six and two).  That&#8217;s mathematically impossible. Someone&#8217;s lying.<\/p>\n<p>Now this is a median, not an average.  So it means half are below, half above.  So if you had a small percentage of women who were *really* slutty, this could balance out.  But:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>29% of men reported having 15 or more female sexual partners in a lifetime compared with 9% of women who reported have 15 or more male sexual partners in a lifetime.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rule of three, people.
