That means internet access is intermittent.  So &#8230; while I&#8217;m working on some longer posts in the queue &#8230; linkorama!<\/p>\n<li>Stephen Bainbridge has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stephenbainbridge.com\/punditry\/comments\/bush_versus_the_historians_my_score\/\">good take<\/a> on the &#8220;Worst. President. Ever.&#8221; stuff.  It&#8217;s way to early to judge Bush.  And I would certainly rate Buchanan and Johnson lower.<\/li>\n<li>Hildog.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2008\/04\/16\/hillary-clinton-on-workin_n_97017.html\">Champion<\/a> of the Middle Class<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/disembedded.wordpress.com\/2008\/04\/14\/madness-trapped-in-elevator-car-30\/\">This<\/a> has got to be freaky &#8212; a man is trapped in an elevator for <i>42 hours<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>One of the problems with the &#8220;climate change&#8221; crowd is that they assume that whatever the climate was in, say, 1975, it was ideal.  I don&#8217;t think they&#8217;ve invested enough thought into this.  If higher CO2 levels mean milder seasons and better harvests, that&#8217;s not a bad thing.\n<p>Still, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cato-at-liberty.org\/2008\/04\/15\/the-world-at-350-ppm-carbon-dioxide\/\">this bit of logic<\/a> from Indur Goklany is a bit dumb.  It is a fact that human prosperity has increased in line with CO2 levels.  But it&#8217;s also a fact that my weight has tracked my personal income (well, until recently).  That doesn&#8217;t make being overweight good for me.  I just haven&#8217;t felt the consequences yet.  The question isn&#8217;t whether high CO2 levels are hurting us <i>today<\/i>.  It&#8217;s all about the long term.<\/li>\n<li>I must admit, that the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,91251-1312960,00.html?f=rss\">gastric appendectomy<\/a> story freaked me out when I first heard it.  But if it means you can get over appendicitis in a matter of hours, I&#8217;m all for it.<\/li>\n<li>Do we really need to prosecute people for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seacoastonline.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20080406\/NEWS\/804060343\/-1\/NEWS01\">looking<\/a> at children?  Really?  You know, we already have stalking laws on the books.<\/li>\n<li>A truly <a href=\"http:\/\/phoenixnewtimes.com\/2008-03-20\/news\/it-took-less-than-one-drink-to-get-shannon-wilcutt-busted-for-felony-dui\/1\">alarming<\/a> account of how far cops are going to get DUI convictions.
